A Case For Melody: Analyzing Some Great Songs

I'll be trying out a very different approach on my next ILTS show. I plan to highlight a few of my favorite songs/melodies and break them down to "get under the hood" to see what it is that make them so resonant with me (and hopefully you!!) I'll also walk you through my process of coming up with solo arrangements of these songs. You'll be surprised how very simple it actually is! So less performance and more analysis of these great pieces. And I'm sure I won't be able to resist the urge to close our time together with a few songs of mine. The first song I'll discuss will be Elvis Costello's "Paint The Red Rose Blue: from his great "A Boy named If" record. Maybe give that track a few listens before the show to add perspective to my analysis❤️
